Trump Administration’s Reckless Action Targets Successful Congestion Pricing Program
Action Threatens Fast Commutes, Clean Air, Economic Benefits for Millions of New Yorkers
"The data is clear – congestion pricing works, and a majority of New Yorkers support the common sense program. Travel times through the city’s most congested corridors are down for millions of commuting New Yorkers while pedestrian traffic is up and data shows air is cleaner and streets are safer for cyclists, pedestrians and drivers alike. Funding from the program is already working to improve public transportation, allowing the MTA to purchase 265 new clean, cost-efficient electric buses and start new projects to speed up trains and buses throughout the region.
“The Trump Administration’s reckless action to rescind federal approval of congestion pricing threatens to bring back the traffic congestion and health-harming air pollution that once choked the region.”
